Gourmet Traveller have awarded Whicher Ridge Winery with Top Cellar Door and Top Wine Experience awards, and their tasting and tour options are not to be missed – you’ll be talking and tasting with the winemaker herself! Their incredible wine sensory garden and extensive native gardens are a top spot to bring a picnic, a glass of wine & go for a wander.

There is also bushwalking, wildlife and bird-watching, as well as the opportunity to relax with your favourite book or games – we’ve snuck some old & new classics into the cabin for you to enjoy!

On a hot day make sure to visit the Canebrake Pool only a 15 minutes drive away and will provide you with a refreshing dip!

Our Cabins

Our cabins are much more than a just a place to sleep and dream. It’s a tiny cabin that can surprisingly fit all your comforts for the perfect stay.

Fully equipped with maximum comfort in mind from a queen-sized bed & bedding (sheets & quilt), pillows and even reading lights, to an indoor kitchenette and an outdoor BBQ with all your essential cookware and a small fridge to make your favourite, wholesome meals.

We didn’t forget the generously sized bathroom with an indoor shower and an odourless composting toilet.

Final thoughtful touches were made, such as a great collection of games and books for you to enjoy your stay.

OUR TRIP

We arrived at our accommodation at sunset and were welcomed by the curious cows and sheep. We had only driven 40 minutes and we already felt relaxed and excited to settle into the Rimu Lodge. The first thing we noticed is the unique shape of the accommodation, almost everything was made of wood which truly made us feel like we were in a cabin in the forest! The owner showed up soon after we arrived and chatted to us about local activities and the glow worm experience on his land which he…

The ins and outs

Check-in / Check-out

Check-in is any time after 4pm and check-out is before 10am. Early check-in and late check-out options are available at booking time. You can self check-in / check-out so relax and enjoy your stay!

Cancellation

We know that sometimes even the best laid plans go awry which is why you can cancel your booking up to 30 days before and get a full refund minus a 5% admin fee. You can also reschedule your stay or get a 50% refund up to 7 days before the date of your booking by reaching out to us.

Minimum Stay

We have a 2 nights minimum stay policy. This is due to the remoteness of the cabin and the cost associated with cleaning and maintaining it.

Pricing

Classic cabin

– 1 queen bed, 2 people

  • $395 on week nights (Sunday night to Thursday night)
  • $425 on weekend nights (Friday and Saturday night)

Premium cabin

– 1 queen bed, 2 people

  • $530 on week nights (Sunday night to Thursday night)
  • $550 on weekend nights (Friday and Saturday night)

The pricing above is inclusive of GST. There are no additional booking fees.
