Sustainability
Why are our cabins eco-friendly?
At Heyscape, we deeply respect the environment our cabins are nestled in and aim to make it intuitive for our guests to do the same.
Our cabins are sustainable and like tiny homes, have a very low impact on the beautiful WA landscape. The more people choose Heyscape, the fewer people stay in hotels and, therefore, the less negative impact is created on our precious environment.
How are our cabins sustainable?
How do we provide self-contained accommodation, keeping the lights on, aircon running and water flowing, while off-grid? The trusty solar panels you’ll find on the roofs of all our cabins work hard all year round to keep you comfortable while immersed in WA’s unique natural surroundings.
Our first sustainable cabin was powered from a salvaged Tesla Model S. As our fleet grew, it became apparent that we needed an energy solution. Each time a new cabin is built, we investigate the electrical load to provide the correct solar panels, inverters and battery sizing.
Heyscape’s off-grid energy supply generates an average of 2620 kWh of clean electricity per cabin, stored in lithium ion batteries that are designed and manufactured in WA.

Our Eco-Friendly Cabin Amenities
All of our eco cabins have safe, drinkable water available from rainwater (or water that is delivered during a harsh summer). The water you’ll use to take a shower or fill an outdoor bath also depends on our self-sufficient power grid, as the pump needs power to run.
Most of our cabins use a composting toilet. They look just like your regular toilet at home, but with no flush. The system is completely odourless and still allows you to put toilet paper in.
